Dear Mr. Sjolander,

I am writing from the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA), a museum in Montreal, Canada. We are currently organizing an exhibition entitled Intermission: Films from a Heroic Future which opens on November 25th, 2009.  The selections the CCA has chosen explore the themes of SPEED and SPACE to be shown continuously in our galleries.

In connection with this project, we have selected excerpts from your film  Monument  to be included among those we will be projecting in one of our galleries that will be converted into a screening room. The film will be shown in a looped sequence with the other selections.

The purpose of this email is to confirm that you hold the copyright to this film, to obtain your permission to include the film within the exhibition, and to procure a projection quality digital file or DVD from you that we could use for projection.

If you hold copyright to this film and we have your permission to exhibit it, could you please let us know in what format it is available and send me the following information: date, name of director/creator of the film, copyright credit?  We will then issue an official use license for the film to be included in the exhibition, or if you prefer, you may issue us your standard license. If you are not copyright holder or there are other copyright holders who need to be contacted, please send us their names and coordinates, if available.
For any further information regarding this request, please do not hesitate to contact
me either by phone 514-939-7001 ext. 2652 or by email

Thank you very much for your kind collaboration. We very much look forward to including this work in the exhibition.

Kind Regards,

Stephanie Thurston
